Guild house

The parish hall built in 1905 by Father Meeus.

Guild house, now known as Mismo bar

Father Henricus Meeus (parish priest from 1896 to 1916) had the Gildezaal built in 1905 as a parish hall: the Catholic Guild House in the Kosterstraat. It was renovated in 1960. The Guild House was the meeting place of, among others, the farmers’ guild and the K.A.V. women’s association; it hosted theatre, billiards (B.C. Sint-Cornelius) and table tennis. The exhibition ‘Oud-Diegem’ was held there in 1965.
